My name is Jason and I am passionate about education.  For the past twenty years, I have dedicated my life to providing enriching and engaging experiences for students in classrooms ranging from middle school students to graduate students, emerging learners to honors students, and face-to-face to distance learning students.  I'd love to connect with you to discuss how good pedagogy and smartly-integrated technology work together to make any classroom engaging and effective!

About Jason

Dr. Jason Neiffer is the first Curriculum Director and now Assistant Director/Curriculum Director of the Montana Digital Academy (MTDA), Montana’s public state virtual school, a graduate of the Teaching and Learning Doctor of Education program at the University of Montana, and the Tech-Savvy Administrator-in-Residence for the Northwest Council for Computer Education.   Jason also co-hosts the national, weekly educational technology podcast, the EdTech Situation Room.

Since MTDA's start in 2010, he leads a team of over 150 Montana public school teachers in building a supplemental online education program delivering over 120 course titles to tens of thousands of students across the State of Montana.

Before working with MTDA, Jason was a veteran classroom teacher with experience in two large public high schools building diverse programs in social studies, debate, speech, newspaper production, and computer science.

Jason is a recognized leader in educational technology integration and popular speaker and trainer with experience working with thousands of teachers from all levels to improve their tech-savvy teaching.

​​​​​​​Jason has been honored as a Distinguished Educator, Most Inspirational Teacher, Outstanding Teacher, and winner of both the ISTE "Making IT Happen," Blackboard Catalyst for Teaching and Learning, and NCCE Eric Jensen leadership awards. Jason lives in Missoula, Montana with his wife Alison, a development professional for a non-profit, where they enjoy Montana’s great outdoors as well as getting lost together in cities around the world.
