Jason Neiffer is the first Curriculum Director of Montana Digital Academy, Montana's publicly support online K-12 school. Created and funded by the 2009 Montana Legislature, the Montana Digital Academy is the most aggressive effort to date to provide Big Sky Country with flexible, high-quality online schooling programs for K-12 students. Jason is leading the effort, utilizing Montana teachers, to deliver over 50 courses to Montana high school students this fall. Previously, Jason spent most of his career teaching in Montana high schools, spending 13 years teaching social studies, speech and debate and computer science at both Capital High School and Great Falls High School. A Montana native, Jason is a graduate of Carroll College and Walden University. Jason is currently a doctoral student at the University of Montana where he is studying educational technology and curriculum and instruction. Outside of school, Jason is partners with Don Pogreba in forming Big Sky Debate, which has provided high quality debate resources on the current debate topic since 2001. Jason also partners with Mike Agostinelli in the Tech-Savvy Teacher Professional Development Group, a small Montana firm specializing in education staff development in educational technology. |
